Special Considerations
  • Acoustical Properties
Rulons Aluratone panels are specifically engineered with acoustics in mind. The Aluratone product line provides designers with the beauty of wood while enhancing the acoustical properties of the space.
  • Above Ceiling Access
Access above Aluratone ceilings is easily achieved with a variety of installation techniques. C-hanger and torsion springs are all that is required on most project installations requiring individual panel accessibility.
  • Lighting Fixtures
Light holes and other penetrations can be factory cut on Rulons advanced CNC manufacturing equipment. Rulon can also manufacture the panels with pads, solid areas with no acoustical infill, which allow penetrations to be cut in the field.
  • Installation
Installation of Rulon Aluratone panels varies depending on project requirements. As mentioned above, accessible panels are most commonly installed with z-clips, or torsion springs. C-hangers simply screw to the backs of the panels and suspend the panels from standard wide C-channel. Torsion springs are fastened to the backs of the panels and using standard T-rail grid and a spring and clip mechanism. For wall applications, Z-clips provide a secure attachment to furring or a ply board wall.
