Hospitality is a business of impressions. The entry and porte cochere set expectations. The lobby establishes tone. The restaurant becomes the memory. And every finish either elevates the brand or undermines it. In an industry where ambiance is the product, ceiling and wall materials matter more than guests consciously realize.
Hospitality ceilings must perform as well as they look. Our systems integrate seamlessly with MEP coordination, meet assembly-space fire code requirements, and withstand the demands of continuous operation. For biophilic hospitality environments, material durability is just as critical as visual impact
The W Hotel Nashville features a chevron wood ceiling in The Dutch restaurant by James Beard Award winner Andrew Carmellini. Rulon engineered prefabricated A/B panel modules with routed wood backers that attenuate sound in the lively dining room while delivering the modern-but-authentic aesthetic the Rockwell Group designed.
In hospitality, the ceiling is often the largest uninterrupted surface a guest sees. Rulon’s Curvalon panels create signature moments like curved lobby canopies and sculptural restaurant ceilings, Aluratone panels deliver NRC ratings up to 0.85 in lobbies and dining rooms, and Linear systems add continuous rhythm to corridors and transition spaces.
At The Dutch restaurant inside W Hotel Nashville, designed by Rockwell Group, Rulon replaced a field-assembled herringbone of loose planks with factory-built chevron panel modules. The felt reveals let sound pass into the plenum, calming a lively dining room. At the LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas, a single-floor scope grew to more than 4,000 square feet of Panel Grilles across 19 floors of elevator corridors, with floor numbers UV-printed directly on the wood instead of built by hand.
