Woodhouse Day Spa

Woodhouse Day Spa has built its reputation around creating premium wellness experiences that extend beyond traditional spa treatments. With locations across the United States, the brand emphasizes relaxation, personal care, and thoughtfully designed environments that help guests disconnect from everyday routines. From welcoming reception areas to private treatment rooms, the interior architecture plays an important role in establishing the calm, refined atmosphere associated with the Woodhouse experience.

At the Woodhouse Day Spa in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood, this approach is reflected in a coordinated palette of warm wood finishes, clean architectural lines, and decorative ceiling features. Rulon International worked with the brand across multiple locations, supplying custom Baffles and Endure™ Linear systems that support a consistent brand identity while accommodating the construction requirements of individual facilities.

CHALLENGE & ACTION

The original design called for field-built millwork beams throughout the main entry and primary corridors. To simplify installation and streamline procurement, Rulon replaced these elements with prefabricated wood Baffles, allowing the decorative ceiling systems to be supplied through a single manufacturer. The 1-5/16-inch by 4-inch Baffles incorporated pre-molded blocking and specially routed top channels for concealed attachment directly to finished ceilings. This custom mounting detail eliminated the need for conventional exposed suspension hardware, allowed the baffles to be flush-mounted to the ceiling, and created a straightforward installation process.

Maintaining finish consistency across the interiors was another important consideration. Rulon developed a custom finish using Ash veneer to closely match the Wilsonart Fawn Cypress laminate specified for the millwork cabinetry and retail displays. The result was a cohesive appearance between the architectural ceilings and adjacent fixtures, despite the use of different materials and manufacturing processes.

Within the treatment rooms, suspended Endure™ Linear ceiling features introduced another layer of architectural detail. Designed with perimeter light coves, these ceiling elements help define the individual treatment spaces while accommodating integrated lighting. As Rulon’s involvement expanded across additional Woodhouse locations, the system was further refined with the introduction of fascia trim to conceal ceiling components and provide a more finished perimeter condition.

The projects also required careful coordination around compressed construction schedules. With approximately ten-week lead times for the custom Baffles, Rulon worked with awarded contractors immediately following project award. By consolidating decorative ceiling products under one supplier and providing ready-to-install assemblies, Rulon helped reduce installation complexity and support the demanding schedules associated with multiple locations.

The Woodhouse Day Spa projects demonstrate how custom architectural systems can support a recognizable brand experience while improving constructability. Through coordinated finishes, concealed attachment details, and prefabricated ceiling solutions, Rulon helped translate the brand’s premium design standards into practical applications that can be carried across multiple locations. The resulting ceilings contribute warmth, consistency, and architectural character to spaces designed around comfort and relaxation.
